Across the country, philanthropic leaders are calling for collaboration over competition, and for a renewed commitment to equity and systems-level solutions in the face of widespread uncertainty and decimated funding for safety-net services. Telehealth is a key modality for putting behavioral health and primary care within reach for patients. In recent years, state and federal policy alike shifted to support telehealth access during the pandemic and in response to increasing behavioral health needs. This post spotlights how Alaska and New York, teams participating in the Delta Center's State Learning and Action Collaborative, worked with partners to advance telehealth for their states as one example of state level collective action that ultimately benefits patients.
Alaska faces unique challenges in delivering behavioral health care, given its frontier setting.
